Aleksandra Wiśniewska

The artist creates paintings on canvas, watercolours on paper and large-format applied painting on walls. After graduating from the Jan Cybis Secondary School of Fine Arts in Opole, she studied art history at the University of Wrocław, which can often be seen in the artist's applied works, as she draws inspiration from the past.

In Aleksandra Wisniewska's work, it may come as a surprise to see such a choice of painting techniques, which are based on the category of canvas/paper/wall substrate. However, easel painting remains most important to her. At the same time, she does not confine her work to this medium alone, but keeps setting herself new artistic challenges.

Her easel paintings are primarily a fascination with the human being. Through nudes, she tries to show the individuality of the human being, the body with its gesture and the history written in it finds its place in nature, or conveys emotional states without reference to the environment.

In his watercolours, he plays primarily with the colour and shapes of nature in illustrative form, honing the technique and the effects that can be achieved in this demanding technique. Favourite subjects include animals, plants and still life.
